IBCAP was formed to prevent the unauthorized and illegal distribution of international television content. Our goal is to enforce our members’ copyrights and trademarks by identifying unauthorized video sources, collecting evidence, and assisting with legal actions and criminal investigations against those individuals and companies engaged in pirating activities.
This coalition intends to coordinate with embassies, government and trade offices both in the U.S. and abroad, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Department of Immigration. As part of our efforts, we will report suspected infringers to the appropriate authorities, initiate investigations, and promote prosecution of persons or companies who participate in illegal distribution of members’ video content.
Our organization also collaborates with Internet Service Providers (“ISPs”), payment processing agents, Content Delivery Networks (“CDNs”) and hardware and software manufacturers to identify and stop unauthorized distribution of video content.
IBCAP will also coordinate with other organizations in the fight against video piracy, including the Audiovisual Anti-Piracy Alliance (www.aapa.eu), the Arabian Anti-Piracy Alliance (www.aaa.co.ae), STOP Nordic Content Protection (www.stopnordic.com), the Coalition Against Online Video Piracy (www.caovp.com), Alianza (www.alianza.tv), and CASBAA (www.casbaa.com).
